Poetic Expression
Desire for Higher!
I desire to go higher,
But am I willing to pay the cost?
I desire to go higher
For the King of Kings I aim to meet,
I desire to go higher,
All baggage I must leave,
You know, low self esteem, uncertainties, low self worth and the likes,
Fear of rejection, failing and for some achieving your goal,
I desire to go higher
For my Lord bids me come,
For He paid a price for me,
A price no man could counterfeit,
For He so loved this world that He sent His only begotten Son,
I desire to go higher
For a Prince and a friend that sticketh closer than a brother is calling me higher this day,
So all my baggage, I must leave,
You know, a critical spirit, perfectionism, people pleasing and excuses,
Self consciousness, self protection and self perseverance some might call it,
All of these attempting to rob me of my goal!
I desire to go higher,
For as I call upon my Lord, He shows me great and mighty things that I do not know,
He reveals the plans He has for me, all for good and none for evil,
With a great future in store,
Purpose, vision and meaning sent to direct me on my way,
I desire to go higher,
But it takes confidence you know,
Not in your ability but in the power of His might,
Knowing who you are is essential to this journey,
So when He bids you come, you can answer with assurance,
Here I am Lord send me!
Desire means to crave, long for, yearn and aspire to,
So wherever you find yourself this week,
God is bidding you, longing for and yearning for you to come up higher,
